Overview
Scouting for Food involves collecting non-perishable food for donation to a local food pantry. It is one of the best service projects available to Cub Scouts as most of the tasks involved can be performed independently Cub Scouts, giving them ownership of the initiative.

Register the Unit to participate in Scouting for Food with Sam Houston Area Council
Identify & Communicate with the Food Pantry that will be the recipient of the collected food (Sacred Heart Ministries Food Pantry in Manvel has worked well in the past)

If the Food Pantry is faith based, the Drop-off could overlap with the AOL Duty to God Adventure Requirements.
Report # of Scouts Participating & Quantity of Food Collected to Sam Houston Area Council
Attend the next Thunderwolf District Roundtable and collect Scouting for Food Patches
Deliver Scouting for Food Patches to Pack Advancement Chair for inclusion in the next month's advancements.
