Building Leaders

Scouting for Adults

Scouting America offers adults a pathway to towards personal development that can be carried with you in all other aspects of your life

As an adult, your service to youth is one of the methods used to achieve the 4 aims of scouting.

Character Development | Citizenship | Personal Fitness | Leadership

Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader

As an adult leader of Scouting of America, you have the privilege of making a positive difference in the lives of the youth members you serve.

To serve effectively, you must be trained. The youth members of the BSA deserve a trained leader and there is no substitute for proper training

Youth Protection Training (YPT)

Youth protection is a priority in Scouting.

Unit leaders are required to keep their youth protection training up-to-date.

Parents are highly encouraged to take Youth Protection Training (YPT) online the same way the unit leaders do.

Parents can set up a free account on my.scouting.org and take the free online training.

Even youth staff at camp go through youth protection training by the camp director.
